As Catholic school advancement leaders, the final four months of the fiscal year (March- June 30) are critical for reaching our Annual Fund goals. Here’s how to make the most of this time:
- Focus on Renewal and Lapsed Donors
Reconnect with donors who supported you last year but haven’t yet given. These donors are your highest ROI because they are previous donors. Don’t be afraid to ask. Personalized letters, emails, and phone calls are key. Set a target to recapture 70% of your renewal donors and 20% of your lapsed donors. - Challenge Your Alumni
Spring is a great time for an alumni giving challenge. Consider a class competition or securing a matching gift from a loyal alum. Engage alumni through social media, email, and video messages from current students or other alumni to show the difference their gifts make. Have fun with this! - Proof Listing of Donors
Before publishing your final honor roll of donors in your fall annual report, email a draft to donors in May and ask them to check it for accuracy. This encourages last-minute gifts, second gifts, and ensures accuracy. No one wants their name to be left off. FOMO is real! - Sprint to the Finish
NEVER GIVE UP! June is typically one of the largest months of giving for a school. Use a multi-channel approach with letters to renewal and lapsed donors, follow up emails, phone calls, and social media posts to remind donors that time is running out.
With a good plan, focus, and urgency, you can end your fiscal year on a high note!
