National Advancement Summer Institute for Catholic Schools

The Partners in Mission Summer Institute is comprised of two conferences: The National Advancement Conference for Catholic Schools and The National Enrollment Management Conference for Catholic Schools. Register for one and take sessions in both conferences– two for one! All sessions are designed specifically for Catholic schools and led by Partners with deep knowledge of the unique markets you serve and the opportunities and challenges you face. The Institute is also a CFRE-approved provider.

Conference participants include diocesan leadership teams; presidents; principals; and directors of admissions, enrollment, advancement, alumni relations, communications, marketing, and athletics. Fr. Michael Tidd, O.S.B. is a Benedictine monk and priest of St. Mary’s Abbey and the 12th Headmaster of Delbarton School, both located in Morris Township, New Jersey.  Fr. Michael has been a monk of St. Mary’s Abbey since June 2008.  He professed solemn vows in July 2011, and was ordained a priest in December 2013.  

Fr. Michael was born in July 1970 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to William and Genevieve Tidd, and has an older brother (David) and younger sister (Jennifer).  He was educated in two Catholic elementary schools of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and then attended La Salle College High School from 1984-88, where he found a lifelong passion for competitive speech and debate.  Graduating from La Salle in 1988, Fr. Michael then earned a B.A. in European History and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991.  Subsequently, Fr. Michael earned an M.A. in Theological Studies from La Salle University in 1995, an Ed.D. in Private School Administration from the School of Education of the University of San Francisco in 2001, and an M.N.A. from the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame in 2015.

Fr. Michael began his career in Catholic secondary schools in 1991 at West Philadelphia Catholic High School, when he was in the formation program of the Brothers of the Christian Schools (Christian Brothers) from 1990-2003.  As a Christian Brother, Fr. Michael taught History and Theology and coached speech and debate at Central Catholic High School, Pittsburgh, PA (1992-95), Calvert Hall College High School, Towson, MD (1996-2001), and Hudson Catholic High School, Jersey City, NJ (2001-03).  After leaving the Brothers’ formation program in 2003, Fr. Michael served as the Academic Dean at Salesianum School in Wilmington, Delaware from 2003-06.

Discerning a call to Benedictine monastic life in his years after the Christian Brothers, Fr. Michael began his monastic formation at Marmion Abbey in Aurora, IL, and was there from 2006-08.  When his father died suddenly in April 2007, Fr. Michael decided to seek a transfer to St. Mary’s Abbey, so that he could be closer to his family in southeastern Pennsylvania.  He arrived at Delbarton in June 2008 after being accepted to the community by the St. Mary’s Abbey Chapter.

From 2008-2018, Fr. Michael was a member of the History Department at Delbarton School, teaching freshmen and seniors.  He was also the founding Director of the Delbarton Forensic Society, Delbarton’s speech and debate team.  As the Forensic Society’s director, he coached three National Catholic Forensic League National Champions in Public Forum Debate (2010, 2011, and 2019) and the 2011 National Speech and Debate Association National Championship team in Public Forum Debate.  During this time, Fr. Michael also served as the Abbey’s Business Manager (2014-18).

In November 2017, Fr. Michael was appointed the 12th Headmaster of Delbarton School by Abbot Richard Cronin, O.S.B.  Fr. Michael began his tenure as Headmaster on July 1, 2018.

Breakfast on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and lunch on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are included in your registration.

Conference Registration & Fees

The fee includes post-seminar telephone consultation, refreshments, breakfast, lunch, dinner on Sunday and Monday evening and most evening events including event transportation. Accommodations are on your own. A $400 deposit is required for each individual who registers. Balance will be due 45 days prior to the conference. Register early, as previous conferences have sold out.

Refund Policy

Full refund (less a $100 administrative fee) if you cancel in writing 30 days prior to the conference. No refund will be made if your cancellation is received within 30 days of the conference. Partners in Mission reserves the right to change, modify or cancel any program or activity.

Registration is from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23 or Monday, June 24 at 8:00 a.m. Session hours will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.  On Thursday hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Refreshments will be served during the morning and afternoon breaks.  Breakfast will be provided on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and lunch will be provided on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Dress

Business casual dress is recommended for day and evening activities. Layers are suggested as meeting room temperatures vary.
